PACE began commercial operations in 2014. Since then—and with the best of customer support—we have built a successful business as one of the country’s top manufacturers of street planters and outdoor furniture. We are metalworkers, fabricators, woodworkers, designers, trainers and process managers, united in a focus to deliver a high level of customer satisfaction through the production of high quality products.
We provide training, employment and accommodation for people who have experienced the prison or probation system. We work inclusively with people with criminal convictions, supporting them in moving away from offending behaviour and helping them to reintegrate safely into the community. Our mission is to enhance community wellbeing by reducing reoffending. All profits we make are reinvested back into the organisation in order to continue to achieve our social mission. We are a business that is also a registered charity. We are a company limited by guarantee as opposed to a company with shareholders.
A criminal record can often present a barrier for people as they attempt to move on with their lives. People coming out of prison are, typically, unemployed but may also be homeless and in need of new skills, training and workplace experience. They may also need material and psychological supports to enable them to progress into mainstream employment and reintegrate back into society. Statistically, people coming out of Irish prisons are more likely than not to reoffend if they do not quickly find an opportunity for stable education, training or employment on their release. PACE offers an opportunity for people to get back on their feet and make a fresh start.
