The Probation Service

The Probation Service is part of the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform. We assess and manage offenders in the community on behalf of the Courts Service and the Prison Service, and in the process help to make society safer. We also work in prisons and detention centres.

City of Dublin VEC

The City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee is the local education authority for Dublin City and its inner suburbs. The Homeless Agency

Established as part of the Government strategy on homelessness, the Homeless Agency is responsible for the management and coordination of services to people who are homeless in the Dublin area and for the implementation of agreed action plans which aim to eliminate homelessness in the capital by 2010. The Agency is a partnership structure, bringing together the voluntary and statutory agencies responsible for planning, funding and delivering services to people who are homeless.

The Irish Prison Service

The Irish Prison Service is responsible for the provision of safe, secure custody for those people committed to prison by the Courts. We are a key component in our country's criminal justice system ensuring safer community life.
